The Limited Shelf Life Of Of Our Organic Cream & Oil Products...

If you are new to using safe, organic-without-chemicals products, please read the following information to understand about limited shelf-life and how to take proper care of our organic Face & Body Creams and Oils in your home.
You need to know that a few of our purest organic-without-preservatives products will not last indefinately like products made WITH dangerous preservatives will. Ours will have a shelf life of 2-9 months, if well kept, as indicated below. Theirs will last until the cows come home, so to speak.
Among the many organic products we offer, our pure, organic
Face & Body Creams, Facial and Body Oils, Lip Balms and
Baby Creams and Oils
have no preservatives at all - not even the Rosemary Extract that acts as a natural preservative in our organic Foaming Soaps, Cleaning Products and the organic scented bar soaps we offer.
Why don't we include a preservative of any kind in these specific products - even though it means a short shelf-life?
We offer these products without a preservative because many of our customers want them this way. Some are chemically hyper-sensitive, even to organic Essential Oils, and some are Immune System Impaired. Almost all have learned that chemical preservatives are bad news, and they are willing to throw out a product that turns bad if they haven't used it up by then rather then put dangerous chemicals on their skin (or their baby's skin) daily (*please see the bottom of the page for info on some of the problems with preservatives).
What should you expect if the products ages and 'turns'?
Our organic Creams and Lip Balms will have an average shelf life of 2-4 months (depending on the temperature they are kept at), while Face & Body Oil products will have an average shelf life of 4-9 months if kept cool (as all fresh cold-pressed oils will).
If these fresh products are not used up while fresh they will 'turn' and need to be thrown out. You will know when they turn because they will sour, or change texture and get more solid. They do not suddenly become toxic, they just sour or turn rancid, and you know it by the texture change or the scent change, like you would when using organic Olive Oil at home that 'turns'.
The ideal cycle is to use them up within their fresh lifespan, and be sure to re-order before you are out!
Heat, humidity, condensation and mishandling are the enemy of organic products without preservatives, so for maximum lifespan keep them in the refrigerator when not in use.
We leave the top off of our Face & Body Cream once we open a jar in our bathroom, and find that it lasts much longer that way. Preventing condensation from building up in the capped jar (by leaving it open) makes a difference of a few months shelf-life in our home. We suggest you try it and see if the humidity and heat changes in your home affect your jar creams, as it does ours here in the South. You can put your open jar in a drawer or cabinet to protect it from dust and light.

The trade-off for having these safe, organic products without dangerous preservatives in them is this limited shelf life. Because of this limited life we package them in smaller sizes in glass jars - to help you use them up while fresh. If they are kept in the refrigerator they will keep nearly indefinately, like any organic cold-pressed oil will.
If they begin to turn rancid in time you will know it, as the scent and texture will change. They should then simply be thrown out, just as you would throw out an organic Olive Oil that started to turn. Wash out the jar or bottle if you want to save it for your own use.
In this way you keep safe organic products in your home and the cost is having a product that may sour on you if it gets warm or gets contaminated with dirty hands or fingers. In our view this is a small price to pay for safety.

Our organic Foaming Soaps and organic scented Bar Soaps and wonderful organic Cleaning Products
do not have this very limited shelf life because they have Rosemary Extract, a safe Essential Oil extract that extends their shelf life to a year or more, depending on being kept in a normal, cool home environment.
All of our fresh organic products are truly good for your skin & good for you internally since there are no dangerous chemicals being absorbed through your skin for your organs to deal with.
We hope you enjoy the quality & benefit of these wonderful organic products!
About Our Sterile Manufacturing Process...
our manufacturing process for these pure, organic products without preservatives includes sterilizing the glass containers in Distilled Water and dry heat, before filling them with sterile product. When cool, we refrigerate them until they get shipped. This is far more than most Organic Producers do, but because we offer these pure products without preservatives we feel it is important to process them in this way.
We ship these pure products only on Monday or Tuesday in the week, to be sure they do not sit over the weekend enroute. If you ever get products that have been heat damaged in shipment please notify us immediately and we will replace them. You will need to ship the damaged product back to us in accordance with our Return requirements.
If you have questions please email or call! We are here to serve you.

*FOOTNOTE: Do Your Current Skin Care Products Contain Any Of The Following Chemicals?
Please go get one of your skin care products and read the Ingredients label. You may be sadly surprised at what you find.
Checking YOUR skin-care products against the following list of ingredients that are commonly found in such products, with their side-effects, should demonstrate to you why a switch to "Organic WITHOUT Chemicals" skin care products is important to you and to your family's health and well-being.
We are the only site we know of that makes this commitment to you - to be "Organic WITHOUT Chemicals"...
"Here are a few of the most common ingredients:
* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?
* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.
* Phenol carbolic acid – Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.
* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.
* Acrylamide – Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.
* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived”.
* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.
* Dioxane – Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.
Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”. Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut” [to make it seem like a safe ingredient]."
